Dicotyledons Plants

Based on the amount of its seed fragment (cotyledons), angiospermae is divided into two groups, namely dicotyledons/dicots (two fragment seeded plant) and monocotyledons/monocots (one fragment seeded plant).
Characteristic of Dicots Plans :
1. Seed : - have two cotyledons
- when the germinating the seed is split into two parts
- have no endosperm
2. Root : - radical will grow into branched taproot
- root tip and stem’s end have no special protection
3. Stem : - from the base to its end like a long branched cone
- joints and nodes are not clear
- vascular bundles are opened collateral and bicollateral
4. Leaf : - simple or compound leaves are frequently associated with stipule
- some of plants have leaf-sheath (vagina)
- arrangement on the stem is alternate or whorled, leaf venation is palmate or pinnate.
5. Flower : - amount of each part of flower is multiple of 2,4, or 5 .
